XLPE cable / Aluminum conductors / Copper conductors

XLPE is another material which is used as insulation material.XLPE can be used across low voltage cables up to high voltage cables as it possesses enhanced properties as compared to other insulating materials like PVC. It offers high tensile strength, impact resistance, insulation and won’t melt at elevated temperatures. XLPE insulation provides a high water tree resistance due to which this particular insulation is suitable for LT and HT cables.

XLPE Cable

LT XLPE Cable

Low tension XLPE Cables are manufactured as per IS: 7098/ Part 1 suitable for continuous conductor temperaturetof 90 oC and short circuit 250 oC. LT XLPE cables have excellent electrical, mechanical and Thermal properties, surpassing those of conventional polymeric dielectrics. Due to which LT XLPE cable can be used extensively in power station, industrial units, projects and power transmission and distributions. Our cable is the economic solution for low tension power distribution with high efficiency and total reliability.

HT XLPE Cable

High Tension HT XLPE Cable manufacturing requires precision and skill in all stages. HT cables tend to raise electric stress of XLPE cables and it is essential to extrude insulation to avoid imperfection, free of contamination, voids and manufacturing defects. Continuous Centenary Vulcanizing (CCV) process line (dry curing) is also required. To achieve this, best quality material and high-grade CCV lines are used.

The cable core is Triple extruded and cross linked in fully enclosed process in which inner semi-conducting screen; the XLPE insulation and outer semi-conducting screen are applied simultaneously to pre heated cable conductor. Specialized in-line inspection techniques using X-Rays are used to monitor dimensional accuracy of extruded core. Finally HT cables go through High Voltage Test to test withstanding ability, partial discharge test in the labs.

Features:

  • XLPE Cable have longer life as compared to conventional PVC Cables.
  • They have a higher conductor temperature rating i.e. 90 oC against 70 oC of PVC Cables.
  • They have a higher emergency overload capacity 130 oC.
  • Max. temperature limit under short circuit conditions for XLPE Cables is 250 oC against 160 oC PVC Cables. Hence they have higher Short Circuit Rating.
  • Insulation Resistance of XLPE Cable is excellent & superior to PVC Cables.
  • They have high corrosion resistance in polluted atmosphere.
  • They have better properties of resistance to chemical and corrosive gases.
  • They have low installation cost because of light weight dimensions and are far more flexible.
  • They have better properties to withstand vibrations, hot impacts.
  • Jointing of XLPE Cables is easier and quicker.
